Mother's Day Campout with Skippy
I have camped with sand flies, mossies ( mosquitoes) and a Norwegian, but I have never camped with Skippy (the Aussie name for kangaroos). If you closed your
eyes and visualized what you think an Australian campground would look like, this would have to be it. We stayed at a place called Diamond Head named after sparkling quartz crystals. There are many wild kangaroo's hopping around, grazing or just laying around. Some even had a "joey" in the pouch. If you didn't zip your tent good, they would get in. The kangas were tame but most would not let you get right up close. Although Jake did manage to pet a few. The campground is located right next to the beach. It's a beautiful beach for body boarding which Mike and Kyle had a go at.

I've included pictures from our hike through the scribbly gum bush to the cliff face harbours with tidal estuaries. It was the perfect "down under" weekend and only 30 minutes from our house. It will be a Mother's Day I will never forget.

Sounds like a good time was had by all on the camping trip - glad your Mother's Day was memorable and you have the great pictures to remind you of this great adventure years from now.
