Karen and Mike are Winers

Last weekend, Mike and I headed 2 hours southwest to Hunter Valley, the wine country. It was organized through the teacher exchange
league. We started touring wineries at 9:30 in the morning. I had no idea we would have to stomp the grapes first (see picture). No wonder the tasters were free! Of course we had to buy some bottles, too. I'm not sure if my sister in law, Liz, buys wine like I do, but I choose the wines with the cutest and most creative labels. My favorite was "Fishcage". There are so many wineries in the valley that you only have to drive about 400 meters between stops.

We had hit 4 wineries by lunch time when it was time to stop at the brewery. As you can see by the picture of Mike, we did a beer sampler here.

Even though the Valley was just coming out of winter, it was beautiful. I would love to take my mum here in November when the flowers are blooming more. She
would love all the free wine flowing
all day long.
